    Brassavola nodosa是品淡綠色原生種蘭花，英文俗稱「Lady of the Night」夜夫人，也就是全球共通的蘭花語言，一聽就知道其夜晚飄香。就科學而言白色是光線全部反射，吸引夜行性動物。夜幕飄香正是吸引遠距離夜蛾的簡訊，而淡綠花萼瓣、亮白色唇瓣就是導引夜行性吸食昆蟲到此覓食授粉的最佳招牌。分布於美洲，這個物種葉子厚實，葉尖如刺，是沙漠植物的特性，也是養蘭初學者的入門首選。
