    長苞石斛屬於鳥腳石斛節，其種名為「有多苞片」之意，為顧名思義指它花梗上具有明顯之長苞片，本種主要原產於新幾內亞海拔約700至1200公尺山區，莖圓柱狀，長約30~50公分，上著5~8片葉，葉長5~8公分具落葉性，花梗自莖節間抽出，花朵嬌小，約1.5~2公分，花簇生，花期長達2個月以上，花色豐富，有白色、粉紅、紫紅等
